A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that produces the result. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. When someone contacts us, we receive the contents of that message and use them only to respond.

The hosting service maintains routine logs, such as IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregated information to maintain the service and understand general readership. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Websites
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy policy of the destination controls any information submitted there. That includes sponsored result providers.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process server-log information for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Information Security
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as needed for the stated purposes. Because there are no accounts, the service does not hold visitor passwords or profiles.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information so it can be deleted.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where a visitor lives, they may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data that a website keeps. Because this service retains very little, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs, then removing applicable information. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Michigan, Kalamazoo County, or city offices remain outside our control and must be addressed to their custodian.
